Why do you see Dr. Century's articles in the newspaper? For the same reason her advice is sought by the dental community. She graduated at the top of her dental school class and spent 10 years teaching post-doctorate dentistry in the dental residency program at Michael Reese Hospital. Her unwavering commitment to staying on top of dentistry's latest science has earned her the highly prestigious Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry (see below). She has designed and implemented the emergency dentistry plan for School Districts 95 and 220 (serving over 15,000 students).
Dr. Century has been recognized by her fellow dentists by election to office in dental societies. She was recently chosen to act as Moderator for the Fifth Annual Clinician's Meeting for the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. Dr. Century is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Chicago Dental Society, where she served on the Peer Review Committee. She has been a local and international officer of Alpha Omega International Dental Organization.
Even so, Dr. Century's favorite accomplishment is making her patients feel at ease in the dental office. Her goal is to have both children and adults happy to come to the dentist. Lakeside Dental strives to make our patients' experiences comfortable, pain-free, and even fun. Our patients tell us we are succeeding.
We are proud to announce that Dr. Century was chosen as a "Top-Rated Dentist" by Chicago Consumer's Checkbook, an independent non-profit consumer information and service resource.
Dr. Century is the only dentist in Lake County certified to use three different lasers for your dental treatment. There are currently only 16 dentists in the state of Illinois certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry on our hard tissue laser, and only 7 Illinois dentists licensed to perform the Laser Periodontal Therapy.

About the Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry. General dentists do not specialize in any one facet of dentistry. According to the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow in the Academy "has been recognized by other dentists as a leader who is committed to quality patient care through continuing dental education." An FAGD dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 400-question examination; s/he must also be an Academy of General Dentistry member for five continuous years.
