Sure, you'll find people here are rightfully proud of their clinical knowledge. Every single person in this office takes more ongoing education each year than The State of Illinois requires for dentists.
But in our opinion, this knowledge is meaningless without a staff that can apply while making you feel cared for, instead of being taken care of. This where we feel our staff really stand out.
Jennifer Mattingly is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists. To ensure you're only being treated with the latest techniques, she takes more than twice the required number of classes required by the state of Illinois for dentists. She's also one of fewer than twenty hygienists nationally (out of over 160,000) to be certified in the LANAP gum disease treatment protocol.
She graduated from the nationally recognized Harper College Dental Hygiene Program in 2000. In 2005 Jennifer received her state certification for administration of local anesthetic. With Lakeside Dental since 2003, Jen has gained a well-deserved reputation for being gentle, yet thorough.
Anna Nowak is our other Registered Dental Hygienist. Anna is a 2004 graduate of the nationally recognized Harper College Dental Hygiene Program, where she was certified to deliver local anesthetics.
She receives ongoing extensive certifications to make sure you're being treated with only up to date techniques. Anna has been a part of our team since 2006 and our patients have enjoyed Anna's friendly demeanor and her gentle technique. Anna also speaks fluent Polish.
Mary McFarland, Dr. Century's Dental Assistant, was recruited specifically for her background in customer service - she was just the friendliest person we'd ever met. We coupled this caring background with qualifications on some of the most advanced equipment available in dentistry today. Mary is knowledgeable in assisting Dr. Century with technical dental procedures, but what you'll remember is her caring attitude in making your visit comfortable and pleasant. In 2006, Mary was certifed by the State of Illinois in Coronal Polishing (teeth cleaning). In 2007 she was trained in the use of the Cerec in-office crown milling unit. Mary has been with us since 2005 and is learning Spanish.
Howard Rothstein is our Practice Manager. As a former technology trainer, he'll ensure your insurance claims have reached your carrier before you've left the office (oftentimes before your credit card has been approved). He spends many weekends away at seminars to make sure you're able to take advantage of any changes in insurance laws. He'll also ensure you'll know the price of any work to be done before you've started. He has financing tools available with interest-free payments for up to 12 months. As Howard is also our HIPAA officer, to safeguard your privacy, he has put into place protocols that are among the toughest in the healthcare profession.
On a more personal note, Howard is very particular as how he's treated in stores and restaurants; he absolutely hates the poor service that has too often become commonplace. His personal goal is to make sure you're treated with the courtesy and competence he demands from others.
Lucy Sanders is our Appointment Coordinator. She has worked in customer service and the insurance industry for years and is very familiar with helping you schedule using our computer software. She has outstanding experience with dealing with insurance companies and will help to get you the most benefits available for your treatment. With us since early 2007, Lucy has quickly become a valued member of our team.
